April Young is an established British sculptor producing expressive, figurative one off and limited edition forms in a variety of materials from clay to foundry bronze. Movement and the natural world, are explored through sensitive yet unsentimental animal studies. Her concepts are often enriched by her love of literature, folklore and mythology.
April has been commissioned to work in a number of materials and to various scales from small works for giftware (mass production) for Border Fine Arts, to life-sized bronze figures as a corporate commission for Morgan Stanley. April Young began her full time sulptural practice after joining Glasgow Ceramic Studio on 2001. Her work is figurative and whether taking human or animal form usually bursting with life or telling a story.
Work is produced to a variety of scales to suit either homes, gardens or the public arena. Exhibition History:
